Located between Calvià and Andratx in southwest Mallorca, Las Barracas extends across approximately 1,200 hectares (3,000 acres) of dramatic terrain. With the Tramuntana Mountains rising behind the pegs and sweeping views of the Mediterranean Sea ahead, the estate delivers a shooting experience that is as visually breathtaking as it is technically demanding.

World-Class Driven Red-Legged Partridge Shooting

Las Barracas is internationally renowned for the quality, speed, and altitude of its driven Red-Legged Partridge. Thanks to Mallorca’s unique climate, the shooting season runs from September through April, well beyond the traditional European calendar - making Las Barracas one of Europe’s most desirable winter shooting destinations.

Average daytime temperatures of 18–20°C provide ideal shooting conditions. Autumn brings evergreen landscapes, February is marked by almond blossom, and spring offers long, clear shooting days beneath blue Mediterranean skies.

The estate’s varied terrain is central to its reputation. Guns are positioned in deep pine-clad valleys, ancient terraced hillsides, and dramatic natural amphitheaters that consistently produce high, fast, and testing birds.

Legendary drives such as “El Muro” (The Wall) and the “Abuelo Valley,” home to the estate’s iconic 1,000-year-old olive tree, are famous for towering birds and large coveys that challenge even the most accomplished shots.

Driven shooting days are organized for teams of up to 10 guns, typically presenting 400–600 partridges per day over five drives, with birds varying in height, speed, and difficulty to suit the ability of each team.

Las Barracas Country Lodge & Hospitality

Guests stay exclusively at the beautifully restored Las Barracas Country Lodge, offering 14 luxurious en-suite rooms, a well-stocked bar and restaurant, two elegant living rooms with fireplaces, and a large garden with swimming pool — the perfect retreat after a demanding day in the field.
