Bird Shooting in the Dominican Republic

Rancho Peligro offers some of the best Pigeon, Pheasant and Partridge Shooting in the Caribbean

Driven Partridge at Rancho Peligro

Welcome to Rancho Peligro, the only luxury Driven Bird Shooting Estate in the Caribbean. Here you can combine a stunning bird shooting experience with most luxury accommodation and food at the famous Resort Casa de Campo in the Dominican Republic.

European Style Driven Bird Shooting

Experience a rare & exciting Driven Bird Shooting experience – Rancho Peligro a 10,000-acre wild bird reserve, is one of the very few places outside of Europe to offer driven game shooting. Under the careful organization of our English Shoot Manager we are shooting here ducks, partridges and pheasants. Located in the beautiful rolling Dominican Hills, Rancho Peligro is only a 35-minute drive or eight-minute flight by helicopter from the Resort “Casa de Campo”.

The day starts with luxury transport to Rancho Peligro, where you will be greeted with a welcome drink and introduction to your loader. Depending on numbers of birds booked, typically three to four drives will be carried out during your time at the ranch.  Refreshments are normally served after each "Drive" and as your shoot progresses. African style safari lunches are served in the casita on-site. The day will end with a count of the birds harvested and photo opportunities.

Pigeon Shooting

Casa de Campo offers a unique experience of traditional Monte Carlo style pigeon shooting. Add in its Columbaire pigeon arena, and you get an exceptional opportunity to shoot one of the oldest forms of competition shooting in the world.

This historic and exciting form of shooting dates back to the early 1820s and is the precursor to all of today’s modern clay pigeon disciplines. Many of today’s professional shooters claim that it is far more challenging than clay pigeon shooting and nowadays it is rare to get the opportunity to shoot the Monte Carlo or Columbaire rings.  For those interested in live pigeon shoots, Casa de Campo's Shooting Center features two box pigeon rings and a Columbaire arena. Each of these events is coordinated & hosted by our professional instructors and provide a fantastic day of competition and comradery.

The Shooting Center

Casa de Campo offers the best year-round shooting facility in the Caribbean, including an on-site 245-acre Shooting Center. The 250 sporting clay stands, simulate everything from bolting rabbit and springing teal to high driven pheasant; further stations provide trap and skeet ranges.  The newly built and beautifully landscaped five stand at the Shooting Center has been developed to exacting National Sporting Clays Association Rules and offers a wide variety of targets that can be thrown to suit the novice right up to the advanced shooter. Included in the price are Over and Under Berettas in 12/20/28 and .410 gauges along with skeet vests, ear and eye protection.  Casa de Campo's Shooting Center is renowned for having one of the largest shooting towers in the world, standing a stately 110 ft. The tower is ideal for practicing for your days at Rancho Peligro driven shoots. Shooters of all ages and skill levels will be delighted by the flexibility of the layout and the realistic conditions that simulate shooting wild game in their natural habitat.

This 7000-acre resort on the shores of the Caribbean contains a full-size replica of a 16th Century Mediterranean village. Since it opened in La Romana almost 50 years ago as the first resort in the Dominican Republic, “CASA DE CAMPO” has been a favorite luxury destination for discerning travelers and celebrities the world over who relish the private gated community for its safe and exclusive setting. Beside of the Shooting it offers also a superb golf Resort. The 3 Pete Dye golf courses include Teeth of the Dog, which is the #1 ranked course in the Caribbean.
